The 2026 Shelby Super Snake-R is Shelby’s most powerful Super Snake, based on the Mustang Dark Horse (S650). It makes over 850 horsepower from a new supercharged 5.0L Gen4 Coyote V8. You can pick a new Tremec TR-3160 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission.
Built for the track, it has new fully adjustable coil-over suspension with metal spherical bearings, a rear harness strut bar, and new forged magnesium wheels. The wheels save about 36.75 pounds of rotational mass—roughly 9 per corner—helping with acceleration, braking, and handling. They also reduce vibrations and keep things cool.
“New carbon fiber parts,” like the hood, front splitter, rear diffuser, pedestal wing, and rocker panels, “lower weight and improve airflow.” “Hood vents,” fascia wings, and diffuser fins “add downforce and aid cooling.”
Inside, the rear seat is gone to save weight. New leather and Alcantara seats with Super Snake-R embroidery replace the standard seats. You’ll also find new serialized plaques, embroidered floor mats, and Super Snake door sill plates. Alcantara inserts help you stay planted in corners. The manual model has a new billet shifter knob. A harness strut bar ties the rear shock towers together. New puddle lamps (700A chassis) and a carbon fiber radiator cover add finishing touches.
This is the third Shelby on the S650 platform and the most aggressive Super Snake yet. Prices start at $224,995. It’s available at Shelby dealers in the U.S. and select international markets. There’s a three-year or 36,000-mile limited warranty.
