The Escalade is Cadillac’s big and powerful luxury icon. It’s a bold, tech-packed, three-row full-size SUV. It gets style changes in 2025, making it look more like the brand’s electric vehicles (see the Escalade IQ and Lyric).
- Even though its standard body-on-frame design comes from the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the regular Escalade’s main job is still to carry up to eight people in style.
- The Lincoln Navigator, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, and the Lexus LX600 are also powerful rivals to the 2025 Cadillac Escalade.
- Even though it’s big, it’s easy to drive and has a smooth ride that makes riders feel comfortable.
The curvy OLED panel across the dash is also back, but this time it covers the whole dash. People who need more space for stuff behind the third row can choose the ESV type with a longer length. Standard is a 6.2-litre V-8 with 420 hp, but people who bought a Camaro ZL1 and never got over it can choose the Escalade-V and enjoy the 682-hp supercharged V-8’s growl and power.
What’s Different in 2025?
The Escalade’s appearance has been updated with a new front end with a bigger grille and new patterns, daytime running lights that squint below the hood seam, horizontal LED headlights, and an optional lit grille surround. The back has new lower bumper covers, updated headlights, and some small changes to the trim. Also new for 2025 are 24-inch wheels, which are the biggest wheels that have ever been offered on an Escalade.

Deep Sea metallic, Latte metallic, and Aegean Stone are some of the new colors. From pillar to pillar, the bent dash panel inside the car now measures 55 inches, up from 38 inches. There are two new color choices for the inside: Renaissance Red and Sheer Gray, and the steering wheel has been revised. More carbon fiber details and a unique stitched fabric are added to the V-series. GM’s hands-free driving system, Super Cruise, is now standard on all of their cars. There is also no longer a diesel 3.0-liter inline-six engine for the Escalade.
Engine, Transmission, and How Well It Works?
Cadillac’s largest SUV comes with a basic 6.2-liter V-8 engine with 420 hp. It works with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The old diesel engine, which wasn’t very powerful but got better gas mileage, has been thrown out for 2025. If you like the Escalade and need speed, only the V will do. A supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine with 682 horsepower powers it. We also liked the speed and baritone burble of the boosted V-8. The Escalade, like its brothers the current-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, and GMC Yukon, has an independent back suspension.
This gives the third-row more headroom, which was limited in the previous generation by a solid rear axle. Plush trims come with air springs and adjustable shocks as well. The Escalade-V handles better than a regular SUV thanks to changes to its handling, but it still doesn’t feel as quick as competitors like the Mercedes-AMG GLS63 or the BMW Alpina XB7.
Conclusion
The 2025 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade-V will be available later this year, but the company hasn’t said how much they will cost yet. Starting prices for the 2024 Escalade are $112,690 with location. Prices will likely go up a little for the 2025 model.
